2025 Commercial Vehicle Industry Development Conference held in Shiyan, Hubei Province

Shiyan City, the “Capital of Commercial Vehicles in China”, welcomes another major industry event. 2025 Commercial Vehicle Industry Development Conference 

Opening Ceremony and Keynote Session was held in Shiyan City, Hubei Province on March 27th.

This conference is a continuation of the first China Commercial Vehicle Forum in 2023 and the China Commercial Vehicle Forum in 2024, and is the third 

consecutive industry event hosted in Shiyan.

This conference is themed with “open up a new track, converge new kinetic energy – the development of new productivity in the commercial vehicle industry”, 

which lasts for 3 days, with more than 200 key industry chain enterprises of C8 (China Association of Freight Vehicle Manufacturers) and more than 30 research 

institutes and organizations, More than 600 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs, on the commercial vehicle industry, new trends, new directions, new routes for 

in-depth exchanges, to deal with the industry’s involution, deepen industry synergies, and promote industry development.

At present, Shiyan City is centered on the service of Hubei, built an important strategic pivot point for the rise of central China, accelerate the construction of 

“China’s commercial vehicle capital”, and constantly increase investment in the automotive field. At the meeting, a total of 38 key cooperation projects focused 

on signing, involving new energy vehicles, auto parts, new materials, equipment manufacturing and other fields, with a total investment of 17.385 billion yuan.

As the venue of the conference, Shiyan was built and prospered because of cars, and is the birthplace of Dongfeng, with 12 existing vehicle enterprises and 3167 

parts and components enterprises, which can produce more than 100 types of vehicles, covering commercial vehicles, new energy vehicles, military vehicles and 

various types of special purpose vehicles, and it is one of the cities with the most complete automobile system and the most complete industrial chain in China.

Wang Yonghui, deputy secretary of Shiyan Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Shiyan, said in his speech that in 2024, Shiyan’s market share of medium- 

and heavy-duty trucks reached 12.7%, the first in the country’s prefecture-level cities, and its market share of 8 types of specialized vehicles and sales volume 

of 20 kinds of parts and components were the first in the country, and the shipments of battery cathode materials and lithium iron phosphate also ranked 

among the national tops. At the same time, Shiyan also successfully launched the first pure electric heavy-duty mining truck, and join hands with Dongfeng, 

CITIC, China Mobile to steadily promote the “vehicle road cloud integration” construction, intelligent network bus, unmanned sweeper, unmanned 

logistics and distribution vehicles to achieve normalized operation.
